A Day in Sam's Life

He didn't/couldn't/wasn't able to see/realize/understand the danger/risk/peril he was in. As he reached/got to/climbed up to the top, the branch/limb/twig broke/snapped/fell. Sam plummeted/fell/crashed to the ground with a loud/sharp/painful thud/sound/crash.

Sam's New Friend
Sam was experiencing a little sad. He wanted to have a new buddy to play with. One day, while he was playing in the woods, he spotted something unusual. It was a little animal with bright feathers. Sam carefully approached the creature and said, "Hello! What's your title?" The creature smiled and answered Sam, "You can call me Lily!" And so, Sam made a new friend. They spent the rest of the day talking together.
Sam was so happy to have found a new friend. He knew that he and Lily would be great pals forever.
